North Rhine-Westphalia: Corona incidence in North Rhine-Westphalia at 745.9

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the seven-day incidence for North Rhine-Westphalia on Tuesday morning as 745.9. Last Friday, the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants was slightly higher at 773.0 within a week and 774.0 a week ago. According to the RKI, the seven-day incidence nationwide was 687.7 on Tuesday.

For NRW, the RKI reported 33,838 new Covid 19 cases on Tuesday. Another 26 deaths related to Corona were added. The highest incidences in NRW were still reported from the Coesfeld district (1644.7) and from the Borken district (1068.6), the lowest in the Rhein-Sieg district (336.8).

However, the incidence does not provide a complete picture of the infection situation. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases that have not been recorded by the RKI - mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.
