North Rhine-Westphalia: Corona incidence in NRW at 244.4

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the corona incidence for North Rhine-Westphalia as 244.4 on Friday morning. This means that there were hardly any changes in the number of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants reported within seven days compared to the previous day (244.9) and compared to Friday a week ago (243.6). The NRW index was still higher than the national average. According to the RKI, this was 205.0 on Friday.

In NRW, 7530 new infections were confirmed within 24 hours. 54 new deaths related to the coronavirus have been registered.

However, the information only provides a very incomplete picture of the number of infections. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases not recorded by the RKI - mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.
