Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The seven-day incidence of corona infections in North Rhine-Westphalia is 506.9. The number of reported new infections per 100,000 inhabitants thus continued to fall, the day before the value was 512.3 and a week earlier 572.0, according to information from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on Thursday. Nationwide, the incidence was 630.4, also with a downward trend.
In NRW there were 19,204 new confirmed corona cases within one day. The number of Covid 19 deaths in the most populous federal state rose by 44 to 26,315.
However, the incidence does not provide a complete picture of the infection situation. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases that are not recorded by the health authorities - mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.
