North Rhine-Westphalia: Corona incidence in NRW decreased at 623.6

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the seven-day incidence for North Rhine-Westphalia on Tuesday as 623.6. The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week thus showed a downward trend. A week earlier, on Tuesday (July 12), the value was 660.7. Nationwide, the RKI currently registered an incidence of 744.2.

There were 29,530 new Covid 19 cases in the most populous federal state. The RKI also reported 27 new deaths related to Corona.

However, the incidence does not provide a complete picture of the infection situation. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases that have not been recorded by the RKI - mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.
