North Rhine-Westphalia: Corona incidence in NRW is 342.6

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - According to the Robert Koch Institute, the corona incidence in North Rhine-Westphalia was 342.6 on Thursday. That was higher than a week earlier, when 300.0 new infections per 100,000 residents were reported in seven days. The NRW indicator continued to be higher than the national average, which was 254.3 on Thursday. Within 24 hours, 14,360 confirmed new infections and 37 deaths related to the corona virus were added in NRW.

However, the information only provides a very incomplete picture of the number of infections. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases not recorded by the RKI - mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.
