Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The new corona infections have increased again in North Rhine-Westphalia. The seven-day incidence increased slightly on Friday to 368.6 - after a value of 338.6 the day before, as reported by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). In a weekly comparison, however, the plus was somewhat clearer: on September 23, the incidence was still 243.4. NRW is currently still well below the nationwide value, which was given on Friday morning with 466.0 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within one week.
Overall, the information only provides a very incomplete picture of the number of infections. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases not recorded by the RKI - mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.
