North Rhine-Westphalia: Cranger fair ends on Sunday as planned with fireworks

Herne (dpa/lnw) - The Cranger fair in the Ruhr area ends on Sunday (14 August) as planned with fireworks. This was announced by the organizer of one of the largest folk festivals in Germany. The fire risk was assessed during another inspection on Saturday together with the city and the professional fire brigade. In order to increase security, the launch site will be slightly relocated, the city said. This does not affect visibility after 10:30 p.m., the statement said. The fireworks last around 15 minutes, and the Cranger fair ends at midnight on Sunday.

The folk festival had to pause for two years due to the corona pandemic. Around four million visitors are expected in 2022. More than 500 showmen have been on the Rhine-Herne Canal since August 5th.
