Höxter (dpa/lnw) - Ferris wheel on the lake, chandelier acrobatics and actress Katharina Thalbach: The state garden show in Höxter from April 20 to October 15, 2023 will be accompanied by a top-class cultural program. The organizers are offering 108 events under the title "City, Country, River - Luftikus". These include acrobatics, tightrope walking, ballet, concerts and readings with nationally known actors such as Thalbach, who is known from numerous cinema and film productions, as the management announced on Friday. The state of North Rhine-Westphalia supports culture with around 300,000 euros.
"We have put together a program that has never been seen before at a state horticultural show and is unique for the region," said Managing Director Claudia Koch at the presentation on Friday. She is convinced that the garden show will attract national attention.
"It's about city stories and garden dreams, about planting, growing, harvesting, about the elements. Sometimes the safe ground is left, then it goes in words and deeds into the cool element and also into dizzy heights," said Brigitte Labs-Ehlert about this Cultural program that she put together as a curator.
Höxter in the Weserbergland is hosting the State Horticultural Show 2023 from April 20th to October 15th. The show grounds stretch from the city center in the west along the bend of the Weser to the Unesco World Heritage Site of Corvey in the east.
