North Rhine-Westphalia: Despite topless photos: ex-photo model wants to become a police officer

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - A former photo model complains about being hired by the North Rhine-Westphalian police service. This Tuesday (9.30 a.m.) her case will be heard before the Düsseldorf Administrative Court. The plaintiff had applied, but had been rejected because of "doubts about her character suitability".

According to the state, her work as a photo model and her website with no-no photos had an external effect that was incompatible with the job of a police officer. In the meantime, the woman has canceled her business as a photo model and is now trying to become a police officer with her lawsuit, the court had announced in advance.

The procedure is reminiscent of several tattooed applicants who were only able to gain access to the police profession with the help of the courts. The judges found that a tattoo no longer necessarily precludes the appearance of a police officer.
