North Rhine-Westphalia: Driver dies in collision with truck

Brakel (dpa / lnw) - A 64-year-old died when his car collided with a truck in Brakel-Bellersen (Höxter district). As a result of the violent impact, the man in his car was thrown about 50 meters further and succumbed to his injuries, a police spokesman said. The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. There was also a dog in the 64-year-old's car, which, according to the spokesman, did not survive the accident on Monday evening. The cause of the accident was initially unclear.
