North Rhine-Westphalia: Drunken car crashes into a house wall

Borken (dpa / lnw) - A drunk young man crashed his car into a house wall in Borken in Münsterland. The 20-year-old was taken to the hospital, police said on Sunday. He had lost control of his car, then went straight across a roundabout and crashed through a hedge before crashing his car into the wall. A breath alcohol test showed a value of 1.6 per thousand. The police also suspected that he might have taken drugs. He did not have a valid driver's license.

The wall of the house was breached in the impact on Saturday morning, but the building is still habitable, according to a structural engineer. The police estimated the property damage at around 60,000 euros.
