North Rhine-Westphalia: Eight-year-old boy runs onto the street: captured by a truck

Mülheim an der Ruhr (dpa / lnw) - An eight-year-old boy ran onto the street in Mülheim an der Ruhr for reasons that are still unclear and was hit by a truck trailer. The child suffered life-threatening injuries in the collision, police said on Sunday. The 31-year-old driver of the truck noticed the collision on Saturday evening by looking in his rear-view mirror and immediately applied the brakes. A 42-year-old witness said he rushed to help and noticed that the boy was unconscious and not breathing. He resuscitated him. The eight-year-old was then treated by rescue workers and taken to a hospital. Police say he is now out of danger.
