Hövelhof (dpa / lnw) - A hunter shot an escaped cow in the Paderborn district. She ran repeatedly on railway tracks, which is why the Paderborn-Bielefeld railway line was temporarily closed twice on Tuesday, the police said on Wednesday. The farmer who owned the cow saw no way of recapturing the animal.
After the cow broke out of a pasture in Stukenbrock-Senne, she crossed the railway line and also obstructed traffic on the streets. At times, trains could not run at all or only at visual speed. She then disappeared in Hövelhof in a corn field right next to the railway line. After the angry cow crossed the tracks again, a hunter who had been summoned shot.
