North Rhine-Westphalia: family dispute escalates: cars race through Cologne

Cologne (dpa / lnw) - They actually wanted to meet for a discussion, but then a dispute between family members in Cologne escalated. The relatives initially attacked each other, then three men fled in a car. An opponent followed them in another vehicle. The two drivers raced through downtown, overtaking and ramming each other with their cars. The car of an uninvolved woman was also touched during the race, as the police announced on Sunday.

The drivers drove over traffic islands and traffic signs until they got stuck in a dead end in the Porz district. One of the men then called the police. A blood sample was taken from a 32-year-old man. The drivers are being investigated, and their driving licenses and cars have been seized. The incident happened late Friday evening.
