North Rhine-Westphalia: family suffers from smoke inhalation at a barbecue

Oelde (dpa / lnw) - Five people, including a 13-year-old girl, suffered smoke inhalation as a result of a barbecue in Oelde in the Warendorf district. After the family first contacted the emergency services because of nausea, the semi-detached house was immediately cleared on Thursday evening, the police said on Friday. In addition to the young people, three women aged 20, 25 and 49 and a 62-year-old man were treated in the hospital, according to a police spokesman. The fire brigade identified a grill as the cause of the smoke gas, from which the smoke had probably drawn into the house through an open window, it was said.
