Aachen (dpa / lnw) - In the process of the accidental death of a girl after an alleged illegal car race, the Aachen district court wants to pronounce the verdict today. A 20-year-old is charged with murder and a 21-year-old with attempted murder. In their pleadings, however, the public prosecutor's office moved away from the murder charge. She demanded a youth sentence of five years for the accused for willful participation in a motor vehicle race resulting in death.
The two young men are said to have raced down a country road in the Eifel in a car race at the beginning of August 2020. The 20-year-old's car collided head-on with another car while overtaking in a curve. The eight-year-old girl sitting in it was killed, the driver and passenger were seriously injured.
