Mechernich (dpa / lnw) - A person died in a fire in a retirement home in Mechernich (Euskirchen district). Two other residents were slightly injured by smoke inhalation, a police spokeswoman said early Tuesday morning. The cause of the fire and the extent of the property damage were initially unclear. The fire did not spread to the entire house and adjacent buildings. According to the information, the residents were able to return to their apartments. Further details were not initially known.
