North Rhine-Westphalia: Fire in the house: couple in the hospital

Bielefeld (dpa / lnw) - An 80-year-old resident was rescued from a house fire in Bielefeld the day before Christmas Eve. She came to a hospital with mild smoke poisoning, and her 84-year-old husband was also taken to the clinic as a precaution, said a spokesman for the fire department on Saturday. The fire was quickly brought under control late Friday evening. According to "Westfalen-Blatt", textiles caught fire on a night storage heater. A passer-by found the gentleman in front of his smoky house, who pointed out his wife in the building. Rescuers found the woman and took her outside.
