Essen (dpa/lnw) - In the coming days, the calm October weather will continue in North Rhine-Westphalia. Tuesday morning starts with fog with visibility sometimes below 150 meters, according to the German Weather Service (DWD) in Essen. The day will then be clear and dry with maximum temperatures of up to 20 degrees. In the night on Wednesday, the temperatures drop to up to seven degrees and at high altitudes wind and sometimes strong gusts come up, which can reach around 50 kilometers per hour towards the end of the night. In places, fog is to be expected again during the night with visibility below 150 meters.

On Wednesday the fog will lift and the day will be clear to cloudy and dry. In the course of the day, however, strong gusts of around 55 kilometers per hour are possible at times, especially in the north-west and in the mountains. The maximum temperature rises up to 23 degrees. During the night, the clouds become denser and it rains in places with low temperatures of up to seven degrees. Thursday will then be sunny to clear and dry - temperatures will rise to up to 19 degrees.
