North Rhine-Westphalia: Former Vice President Pinkwart changes to science

Siegen (dpa / lnw) - The former North Rhine-Westphalian Economics Minister Andreas Pinkwart (FDP) wants to withdraw from the state parliament and return to science. At the end of the year he intends to resign his mandate and resume his professorship in business administration at the University of Siegen in January. This was reported by the "Siegener Zeitung" and the "Rheinische Post".

Pinkwart has held a professorship in business administration at the University of Siegen since 1998. However, he took a leave of absence when he became Science and Research Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia in 2005. He held these posts until 2010. In 2017 he returned to the state government as Economics, Digitization and Energy Minister, a position he held until June 2022. From 2011 to 2017 he was a professor and rector of the Leipzig Graduate School of Management.
