North Rhine-Westphalia: Gelsenkirchen town hall cleared due to the threat situation

Gelsenkirchen (dpa / lnw) - After a threatening phone call, the evacuation of the town hall in downtown Gelsenkirchen has been ordered. There are large-scale blocking measures on site, the police in Gelsenkirchen said on Tuesday. The city of Gelsenkirchen spoke on Twitter of a bomb threat. Therefore, no appointments can be made in the Hans-Sachs-Haus at the moment. Appointments booked for Tuesday would have to be cancelled. The police said they wanted to prevent bystanders from entering the scene. The town hall and a high-rise building opposite are affected. The Hans-Sachs-Haus is the city's administrative headquarters.
