Cologne (dpa / lnw) - Regional football club Fortuna Cologne has signed Kingsley Sarpei, the nephew of former Bundesliga professional Hans Sarpei. The 19-year-old offensive player changes from Wuppertaler SV to the club from the south of Cologne. "My uncle played here. To be able to play here as the second Sarpei is something big," said Kingsley Sarpei, according to the club's announcement on Thursday. "I want to help the club get the best out of it." After five games, Fortuna only has two points.
During his career, Hans Sarpei also played for Bayer Leverkusen, FC Schalke 04 and VfL Wolfsburg. He was also a Ghana international.
