Espelkamp (dpa / lnw) - In a head-on collision between two cars in Espelkamp (Minden-Lübbecke district), three people were injured. A 20-year-old had run into oncoming traffic on a federal highway on Saturday evening for an unknown reason, the police said on Sunday.
The driver of the oncoming car, also 20 years old, tried to prevent the collision by steering his vehicle to the left. However, because the person who caused the accident steered back into his lane at the same time, the collision occurred, according to the police.
After that, both men and a 17-year-old passenger were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, a police spokesman said. The police estimated the property damage at 16,000 euros.
