Münster (dpa / lnw) - The fire in a car workshop in an industrial area in the city of Münster on Saturday afternoon caused property damage in the six-figure range, according to initial estimates. According to the fire department, the owner of the workshop suffered minor injuries. The exact cause of the fire is not yet known.
When the fire crews arrived, the owner had already left the burning building on his own. Rescue workers provided medical care to the man on site and then took him to a clinic. No other people were found in the workshop.
During the four-hour extinguishing work, some gas bottles smashed, but the fire brigade prevented the flames from spreading to other buildings. After the fire was extinguished, the emergency services initially continued to monitor the scene of the fire in order to be able to quickly extinguish any embers.
