North Rhine-Westphalia: hit and run: man car is more important than hit child

Bielefeld (dpa / lnw) - A driver hit a child in Bielefeld with his off-road vehicle, but then did not take care of the fallen child, only his vehicle and then drove away. As the police reported on Thursday, a mother picked up her two children on foot from a school. As the three crossed a street, the SUV driver hit one of the children while the mother and the other child had already reached the sidewalk. The child who was hit and riding a bicycle across the street suffered minor injuries.

The driver stopped, got out and wiped the spot on his car where he had caught the child. Two passers-by and the mother addressed the driver together. But the approximately 50 to 60-year-old man continued his journey unperturbed, without taking care of the fallen child. The police are now looking for the two witnesses who saw the accident.
