North Rhine-Westphalia: homeless man in Cologne with life-threatening injuries

Cologne (dpa / lnw) - A homeless person was fatally injured in Cologne with stitches. The 50-year-old man collapsed with severe stab wounds to his upper body after asking a taxi driver for help, police and prosecutors said on Thursday. He came to the hospital. After initial investigations, there were indications that the man should have argued with three young people on Neumarkt on Wednesday evening.

The police found the three young men in a youth center and took them to the police station. A homicide commission is now investigating whether the dispute is related to the injury of the 50-year-old. Witnesses are now being sought. Video recordings are also evaluated according to the deployment report.
