North Rhine-Westphalia: Homeless woman seriously injured at night with a baseball bat

Cologne (dpa / lnw) - A homeless woman was seriously injured in Cologne on Monday night with a baseball bat. Eyewitnesses reported that the 46-year-old had been attacked by two men in their 20s, the police said on Monday. The woman told police officers that she had been beaten for no reason by the strangers at a tram stop. She reportedly suffered serious facial injuries. One of the attackers is said to have been wearing a red tracksuit. An hour earlier, three men, one of whom was wearing a red sports jacket, are said to have been arguing loudly nearby. It should be determined whether there is a connection.
