Düsseldorf (dpa/lnw) - The number of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants reported within seven days was 319.9 in North Rhine-Westphalia on Tuesday. This emerges from the figures published by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). Within 24 hours, 13,467 confirmed new cases and 31 deaths related to the corona virus were added. The day before, the seven-day incidence had been 326.7, compared to 404.6 a week earlier. A value of 844.4 had been reported four weeks earlier.

For some time now, however, experts have been assuming that there is a high number of unrecorded cases of infection - for example because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only these count in the statistics.
