North Rhine-Westphalia: Incidence in NRW with 436.3 at national level

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The seven-day incidence of new corona infections in North Rhine-Westphalia is stagnating. On Friday morning, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported 436.3 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week. The value was almost as high as the day before (435.7). A week ago, an incidence of 497.3 was reported (previous month: 698.5). NRW is now in the range of the nationwide incidence, which according to the RKI was 432.2 on Friday.

However, these numbers only provide an incomplete picture of the infection situation. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases that are not recorded by the health authorities - mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.

According to the RKI, there were 14,166 new confirmed corona cases in NRW within one day. The number of deaths related to Covid-19 rose by a further 33 in the most populous federal state in the period to a total of 26,517 since the outbreak of the pandemic.
