North Rhine-Westphalia: Investigations against police officers on suspicion of abuse

Wuppertal (dpa / lnw) - The public prosecutor's office in Wuppertal is investigating a police officer on suspicion of sexual abuse. An alleged victim, a young man, has filed a complaint, a spokesman for the public prosecutor's office said on Monday. The news magazine "Der Spiegel" had previously reported on it. The police officer is at large. The public prosecutor's office did not provide any information on the exact age of the two.

The man claims that he was the victim of years of sexual assault by the police officer, a bodyguard. According to the public prosecutor's office, 42 data carriers from USB sticks to mobile phones were seized in the suspect's apartment during a search, which are now being evaluated. The accused remain silent on the allegations.

Chat histories on the alleged victim's cell phone indicated that both people had been in personal contact, said a spokesman for the prosecutor's office. No abuse data were found there.
