North Rhine-Westphalia: Klos after defeat: "Stand straight as a team"

Bielefeld (dpa / lnw) - Bundesliga relegated Arminia Bielefeld could not end his negative series in the 2nd Bundesliga and exacerbated his sporting crisis. After an overall poor performance, the East Westphalians deservedly lost 0:2 (0:1) against promotion favorite Hamburger SV on Saturday and remained without a win for the fourth time in a row. Coach Uli Forte's team has been without a win in home games since February 19th, which means the coach is slowly coming under pressure.

"It's never nice when you have to listen to the negative reactions of the fans after the game, but they're coping perfectly today. We as a team just have to be responsible," said Bielefeld captain Fabian Klos on the Sky TV channel.

HSV, on the other hand, celebrated their third win of the season after goals from Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer (28th minute) and Laszlo Benes (74th) and are currently in third place with nine points behind Paderborn and Heidenheim. The hitherto undefeated Jahn Regensburg could still pass in Sunday's game.

In front of 26,875 spectators, Königsdörffer took advantage of a major mistake by Bielefeld's central defender Oliver Hüsing to take the lead. For a long time there was far too little from Bielefeld when it came to building up the game. The hosts were even lucky not to fall further behind when Mario Vuskovic hit the bar just before the break.

Only in the second half did Arminen have chances to score through Masaya Okugawa (48') and Frederic Jäkel (72'). But HSV ruined the good Bielefeld phase with the 2-0 with a full 20-meter shot by substitute Benes. "We're in a negative spiral right now and are putting the goals in ourselves. Our fans were fantastic," said Jäkel on ARD, adding: "It's bitter that we disappointed them again."
