North Rhine-Westphalia: "Kreator" singer likes the lack of elbow mentality

Essen (dpa / lnw) - Miland "Mille" Petrozza (54), singer of the heavy metal band "Kreator", likes the cohesion in the Ruhr area: "Many people in the Ruhr area lack the elbow-thought, and I appreciate this togetherness very much" , said the native of Essen.

He still feels connected to the area today, although he now has a second home in Berlin. "This is mainly due to the mentality of the people in the Revier, to this kind of buddy that is still there and has shaped me a lot. This collegiality helped us especially at the beginning." For example, when it went on tour, the musicians' friends simply went with them and acted as roadies.

"Hate Über Alles" is the name of the band's 15th studio album, which was released recently. In it, Petrozza addresses, among other things, the ubiquitous hate in social media: "I have the feeling that there are now two different realities in communication: that of the real world and that of the digital world. The problem is that the type of communication changed. A lot of things are taken far too seriously."

Throughout the summer, "Kreator" are booked for festivals worldwide, including the "Ruhrpott Rodeo" on July 1st in Hünxe. From November it will go on a European tour. "I'm really up for it," says Petrozza. "The pandemic has shown you how fragile life is and how grateful you should be for it."
