North Rhine-Westphalia: man died in an apartment fire in Ratingen

Ratingen (dpa / lnw) - A man died in a fire in a ground floor apartment of a high-rise building in Ratingen (Mettmann district). Rescue workers rescued the dead man from his apartment on Wednesday night, as the fire brigade in Ratingen announced early Wednesday morning. According to the information, no other people were injured in the house with more than 100 residents. After the fire was fought, the residents of the unaffected apartments returned home. The cause of the fire was initially unclear, according to a police spokesman.
