North Rhine-Westphalia: man died in fire in Porta Westfalica

Porta Westfalica (dpa / lnw) - A man died in a fire in a residential building in Porta Westfalica (Minden-Lübbecke district). He succumbed to severe burn injuries during the night, as a spokesman for the fire brigade in Porta Westfalica announced on Wednesday. According to the information, four other people, including a child, were able to leave the house on their own. Two of them had inhaled smoke gases when they tried to come to the aid of the occupant on the ground floor who later died. When firefighters finally recovered it, only death could be determined. The four other residents of the house were looked after by the emergency services and emergency chaplains, it said.
