North Rhine-Westphalia: Man jumps to help women and is attacked

Sankt Augustin (dpa / lnw) - According to the police, a 25-year-old jumped to the side of two women in Sankt Augustin and then became a victim himself. The incident happened on Sunday morning in an S-Bahn in the direction of Siegburg, officials said on Tuesday. The geriatric nurse was in the same wagon with two young women and three men aged 21 to 37 - the later suspects. One of the men went to the women, but they obviously showed no interest. The geriatric nurse therefore asked to leave the women alone.

He was then attacked by the suspects with punches. He was able to escape from the train at a stop, but the men followed him. "He was pushed to the ground on the platform and the three men kicked him," the police report said. A suspect slipped a metal bracelet over his fist and used it as brass knuckles.

The 25-year-old finally made it to a police station. There he was treated. The three suspects were arrested by the police. They are reportedly now in custody. Investigated on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm.
