North Rhine-Westphalia: More deaths and fewer births in NRW

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - There have been more deaths in North Rhine-Westphalia than before. In the first ten months of 2022, 188,755 people died in the federal state, 5.4 percent more than in the same period last year, as the state statistics office IT.NRW announced on Wednesday in Düsseldorf. In the same period, 137,387 children were born in NRW, 7.1 percent fewer than before. As usual, the development was not justified. Demographic change may have played a role here.
