Dormagen (dpa / lnw) - A dispute about nocturnal noise is said to have had almost fatal consequences in Dormagen. A 27-year-old was with several people at 4 a.m. in front of the house of an elderly couple, police and prosecutors reported on Tuesday. There was a war of words between a 60-year-old resident of the house and the 27-year-old.

The 27-year-old then tried to force his way into the house where the 60-year-old was staying with his wife. He is said to have threatened the couple massively. The 60-year-old finally shot.

The 27-year-old was taken to a hospital with serious injuries and underwent emergency surgery. Danger to life could not be ruled out. The police seized the suspected murder weapon. According to the previous investigations by the homicide squad, it can be assumed that the 60-year-old shot in self-defense.
