North Rhine-Westphalia: murder in the living room: the accused is silent at the start of the process

Dortmund (dpa / lnw) - Around six months after the discovery of a man's body in a Dortmund apartment, a 22-year-old man has had to answer to the court since Tuesday. He is accused of stabbing a casual acquaintance on April 23, 2022. At the start of the trial at the Dortmund district court, the accused had not yet commented on the allegations. The charge is murder.

The public prosecutor assumes that the later victim was sitting on the couch in the living room and was on the phone when the German accused picked up the knife. The doctors later found serious stab wounds - in the neck, throat and chest. According to the indictment, a stab penetrated eleven centimeters deep into the neck and severed the carotid artery. Another injured the spine. The 21-year-old didn't stand a chance. He bled to death.

The crime happened in the apartment of the Dortmund defendant's partner. The later victim is said to have been completely surprised. The background is unclear. A verdict is expected by the end of November.
