Rheda-Wiedenbrück (dpa / lnw) - Nine people were injured in the collision of two vehicles in Rheda-Wiedenbrück (Gütersloh district) - one man seriously. According to initial findings, a pickup truck with eight people was left unlit on the street early Friday morning when a 63-year-old crashed his car into the vehicle, the police said. According to the 22-year-old van driver, the vehicle was on the road without a light because the engine had just gone out due to an incorrect operation.

Both drivers and six other occupants of the van aged 19 to 47 were slightly injured, the seventh passenger aged 39 was seriously injured. The injured were taken to hospitals and the vehicles were towed away. The scene of the accident remained closed for the time being.
