Düsseldorf (dpa/lnw) - According to an annual survey by the State Statistical Office IT.NRW, more than half of the NRW companies have "fast Internet" with fixed connections of 100 Mbit bandwidth per second or more. IT.NRW announced on Monday that the proportion had risen from 41.8 to 55.5 within a year in January 2022. Almost a third (32.9 percent) of employees also have mobile internet connections via smartphone or laptop for work. In January 2021, the proportion was still 27 percent.

According to the survey, there are still problems with staff: more than three quarters of the companies (76.9 percent) reported that they had difficulties filling vacant IT positions in 2021.
