Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The North Rhine-Westphalian terrorism investigators initiated 329 new investigations last year. The chief public prosecutor, Markus Caspers, said on Monday in Dusseldorf that a large part of the proceedings were for suspected terrorist financing following a tip from the customs office for financial transaction investigations, FIU.
In addition, there were 122 new investigations into extremist threats. Since 2018, investigations with a terrorist background in NRW have been conducted by the Central Office for Terrorism Prosecution of the Düsseldorf Public Prosecutor's Office.
