Düsseldorf (dpa/lnw) - Employees should not only be able to continue their training during the pandemic, but also in principle with digital offers instead of face-to-face events. This is provided for in a joint draft law by the CDU, SPD, Greens and FDP, which is to be passed in the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament on Wednesday.
So far, this option was opened in March 2020 as a result of corona-related closures and restrictions. However, this option should expire at the end of the year. The intended amendment to the Employee Training Act now provides for an unlimited period.
"The regulation, which has been limited so far, has met with a positive response and meets the requirements of the increasing digitization of all areas of life," says the cross-party draft law, the adoption of which is considered certain. This also corresponds to the goals of the black-green coalition agreement. A debate on the amendment is no longer scheduled for Wednesday in plenary.
"No complaints were made," said the parties, summing up their experiences to date. Continuing this practice gives the educational institutions planning security in times of crisis. According to the legal requirements, recognized educational events must "generally include eight hours of instruction per day, but at least six hours of instruction, each lasting 45 minutes".
