North Rhine-Westphalia: Opposition calls for relief for families in NRW

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The SPD in the Düsseldorf state parliament is calling for relief for families in North Rhine-Westphalia in view of rising prices and "impending gas bottlenecks in winter". Not only the federal government, but also the state has a duty here, said parliamentary group leader Thomas Kutschaty. He called for a "concrete NRW support plan" from Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst (CDU). "The best and fastest form of support would be an immediate abolition of daycare fees." A pact to stop rental prices is also possible.

The advance of the SPD parliamentary group comes exactly on the day of a big press conference with Wüst. This Friday (11:00 a.m.) the Prime Minister will face the state parliament journalists on all kinds of topics.
