Rheda-Wiedenbrück (dpa / lnw) - After a major fire in a wood processing plant in Rheda-Wiedenbrück, two other suspects are being investigated for arson. An adolescent had already been taken into custody on Monday, and now two other suspects have been brought before the magistrate, as the public prosecutor's office in Bielefeld and the police in Gütersloh announced on Friday. Several warehouses in an industrial complex were destroyed in the fire almost a week ago.
According to investigators, detention has now also been ordered against a second adolescent. In the case of the third suspect, a young person from Herzebrock-Clarholz, the arrest warrant was suspended under certain conditions. No further information was given about the ongoing investigation. The exact age of the alleged arsonists was not initially mentioned.
The fire brigade had spoken of one of the largest operations in the region in recent years with more than 300 forces. Residents had to leave their houses as a precaution, and the adjacent rail traffic had been interrupted.
