Erkelenz (dpa / lnw) - Unknown people hacked into an ATM in Erkelenz (Heinsberg district) and caused massive damage to the bank building. A police spokesman said on Monday that there were many indications of an explosion. It was not immediately known whether any money was stolen. Witnesses had heard a loud bang during the night and observed three men who shortly afterwards fled in a car at high speed. The police secured extensive traces at the crime scene, which would be evaluated forensically, it was said. The perpetrators were searched for.
