Gelsenkirchen (dpa / lnw) - After a knife attack in a bus in Gelsenkirchen, the alleged perpetrator was quickly identified with the help of a police dog. According to the police, the drunk 26-year-old initially provoked a 47-year-old passenger on the bus. When the man fought back and a 48-year-old came to his aid, the situation escalated. The 26-year-old injured the 47-year-old with a knife on his right arm and left ear.

Then the attacker kicked the man lying on the ground several times and fled the bus. A service dog handler and his dog stopped the man. He received a criminal complaint on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm. The 47-year-old received medical treatment and then left the hospital.
