Krefeld (dpa / lnw) - During a police operation in Krefeld on Sunday evening, a 27-year-old was injured by a shot from a police weapon. It was used because the man from Essen is said to have hit a parked car with an object. When police arrived, the suspect was holding a knife and threatening. The man did not respond when spoken to. When other officers came, he threatened them with a knife and a baton. When he finally attacked two police officers with knives in their hands, they said they used their firearms. "The attacker was stopped by a shot in the lower leg," the Krefeld police and the Kleve public prosecutor reported on Monday. He was taken to a hospital and his life was not in danger.
