North Rhine-Westphalia: police operation at vocational school: indications of "dangerous situation"

Düren (dpa / lnw) - The police went on a large-scale operation at a vocational school in Düren on Monday. There are indications of a dangerous situation, the police said on Twitter. Many emergency services are on site and the situation is being clarified.

The students at two vocational colleges initially locked themselves in their classrooms as planned, it said. In addition to the Nelly Pütz school in the south of Düren, which the police named as the location, there is another vocational school. Police officers would search the Nelly Pütz vocational college, the police said on Twitter.

A police spokesman did not initially say what was meant by the dangerous situation. It also remained unclear whether people were injured or whether there were any indications of suspects. The area should be avoided on a large scale, it said.
