North Rhine-Westphalia: police shots in Dortmund: investigation results in January

Dortmund (dpa / lnw) - In the case of the 16-year-old shot by the police in Dortmund, the investigations will probably not be completed this year - but probably in January 2023. This was announced by Carsten Dombert from the Dortmund public prosecutor's office on Wednesday. The "WAZ" had previously reported about it.

The police were called to a youth welfare facility on August 8, where the young refugee from Senegal is said to have initially threatened to kill himself with a knife. He was shot at by police with pepper spray and two Tasers. Finally, a police officer fired a submachine gun, and the youth died in hospital.

The shooter is being investigated for bodily harm resulting in death, and four other police officers involved on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm or incitement to do so. The public prosecutor had hoped that the investigation would be completed this year.
