North Rhine-Westphalia: Rheinbahn lowers the temperature in the trains by two degrees

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The Rheinbahn lowers the temperature in its trams and subways by two degrees. The local transport company announced on Monday in Düsseldorf that one million kilowatt hours of electricity should be saved in four months. This corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of around 250 four-person households. Instead of 18, it should now only be 16 degrees warm in the lanes.

This will not affect driving comfort, as the passengers are usually dressed warmly anyway, the company said. The measure implements a requirement of the federal government to deal with the energy crisis. The Rheinbahn operates local public transport in Düsseldorf, Meerbusch and large parts of the Mettmann district.
